·To work as part of the Pastoral Team and support the operation of Internal Exclusion

To work with the Behaviour Manager to ensure Internal Exclusion is supervised at all times in a consistent manner that supports students.

·To assist in the support of children who display challenging behaviour and to work both as part of a team and independently to support the aims of the Inclusion Team.

Run bespoke intervention sessions to small groups of Key Stage 3 students to support their engagement in school and demonstrate the Academy’s Values.

Cover Supervisor

Job Description

The role

We are looking to recruit a committed Cover Supervisor to join our growing team and assist in covering a range of lessons across the school. When teachers are absent, they will set work for their classes to complete. We are looking for someone who can help and support in the delivery of these lessons. Full training will be provided to the successful applicant. You will need to be pro-active, organised, enthusiastic and able to use your initiative. As part of a small and growing team, a willingness to be flexible and develop as a professional are essential attributes. This position is well suited to someone thinking about pursuing a career in teaching and who wishes to gain some further experience before doing so.


The successful candidate will:

• Be confident in their ability to manage a whole class of students within the age range 11 to 16.

• Be able to communicate appropriately and effectively with young people.

• Be able to manage behaviour in the classroom to ensure students remain engaged in set work.

• Be flexible to work throughout the school within different departments and with different age ranges on a daily basis.

Teacher of Maths

The role

We are looking for an enthusiastic Teacher of Maths, who has a passion for developing a great understanding of the mathematics with the students.
It’s a very exciting time to join the Maths Department here at the Academy. You will be working closely with the Head of Department, building strong relationships with students and other Teachers in the Academy. You will have a responsible for co- ordinating KS4.

Our curriculum is designed to provide children with the core knowledge they need for success in education and later life, to maximise cognitive development, to develop the whole person and talents of the individual and to allow all children to become active and economically self- sufficient citizens.

The role

We have an exciting opportunity for a Teaching Assistant to join us here at The Lowry Academy. We are looking for someone who is approachable, patient and who works well as part of a small team.
You will have the experience of working with children who are of a secondary school age. You must have the willingness to develop the knowledge and skills required to help young people be the best they can be.
The ideal candidate must be a strong communicator, who can form strong, positive relationships and undertake the key worker role, liaising with teachers and senior leaders. In addition, you will be proactive, the ability to learn and undertake training and meetings when necessary.
