Design Technology

What will my child's learning look like in Design Technology?

They will acquire a broad range of subject knowledge and draw on disciplines such as mathematics, science, engineering, computing and design. Students will learn how to take risks, becoming resourceful, innovative, enterprising and capable citizens. Through the evaluation of past and present design and technology, they will develop a critical understanding of its impact on daily life and the wider world. Design Technology covers a range of different subject areas.

What are we aiming to achieve in Design Technology?

The Design Technology team are committed and enthusiastic experts in their respective fields, bringing a wealth of knowledge and experience from industry into the classroom. We strive to equip students with the skills and qualifications to go on and become the next generation of creative practitioners in their chosen field. Our mission is to build confidence and encourage students to take ownership and develop their thinking into creative ideas. We are a cohesive department, linked between subjects which offer students a holistic experience of the design process from sketch to a final outcome.
