Last week, a group of enthusiastic Year 8 students had the exciting opportunity to take part in CyberFirst, a dynamic and immersive workplace experience held at Media City. The event, designed to introduce young people to the rapidly evolving worlds of technology and cyber security, gave students the chance to explore potential future careers in these high-demand fields.
Throughout the day, students engaged in a range of hands-on activities and workshops that challenged them to think creatively and work collaboratively. The highlight of the experience was a team-based task where students were asked to develop and present their own business idea related to technology. Each group pitched their concept to a panel of industry experts, simulating a real-world entrepreneurial experience.
We are incredibly proud to share that the panel of experts selected our students' presentation as their favourite of the day, commending them for their innovation, teamwork and confident delivery. The girls truly impressed with their thoughtful approach and ability to communicate their ideas clearly and persuasively.
Experiences like CyberFirst are invaluable in helping students see the real-world applications of their learning, and in opening their eyes to exciting future possibilities of STEM careers. A huge well done to all students involved - you represented the Academy brilliantly and we can't wait to see where your talents take you next!
